American Muscle isn't Just for Cars

For example, check out the 2017 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor.  If this is not the epitome of a muscle truck, I don't know what would be.  This is certainly an attention getter and head turner if there ever was one.

Although we are probably still about a year away from seeing this hit the showroom floors, we can't help but be eager with anticipation.  It doesn't share a chassis or powertrain with any other vehicle.  Ford has matched those to its unique bodywork.  It boasts a new boxed steel frame that is reinforced more than the normal F-150.  It will be available in Super Cab or the roomier Super Crew.  Yes it also has the new aluminum body that sheds 500 pounds from its curb rate despite the beefier frame.

The engine is also upgraded to an Eco Boost.  The high powered Eco Boost engine it develops for sports car racing influence the production of the V-6's improvements.  It has a new aluminum block and updates to the cylinder heads, internals and fuel system. They have also added a true dual exhaust system with twin outlets notched in the rear bumper to improve air flow.

All of that is great but let's face it, the looks are the key.  It is toned and buff and more than just an F-150 with fender flares.  It is as wide stance and huge tires give it a menacing look that can tackle about any terrain.  The “FORD” grille and array of market lights remain but are framed in a design that adds more flair and the bumpers give it a true desert racer look.
