Clever Girl...F-150 Raptor

Holy leaping lizards!  Look what Ford has hatched.  They released a Raptor and it is now in your neighborhood.  You can see this creature in its peaceful state in the form of a Ford F-150 Raptor at its current handlers, the friendly staff at Hixson Ford of Alexandria and take your expectations for a spin...if you dare.
hixson1This new Raptor can be a mean and very tough off-road machine and then turn itself into a peaceful vehicle to run the kids to school or to take your better half to dinner.   It will turn some heads as you cruise by.  Believe it.  But the Ford Raptor is especially attracted to those drivers who want to get off the asphalt onto the paths less traveled.
The Raptor's new boxed steel frame has been reinforced to take on those off-road adventures even more. You do have a couple of choices with the sportier 133-inch wheelbase Super Cab or the spacious 145-inch Super Crew model.  With the help of the aluminum body, this new Raptor is 500 pounds lighter.  Also for 2017, the Ford F-150 Raptor has shed the heavy big iron block V8 and has been outfitted with the more powerful Eco-Boost 3.5-liter V6 with its twin turbo chargers that release more horses and torque with a nasty growl.  This very aggressive high-powered powerplant was developed by Ford for sports car racing.
Yes indeed, the light bulbs went on with the Ford Engineers as they thought why not put this “souped up six” into the 2017 Raptor.  So they did, much to the enjoyment of new Raptor owners.  Too enhance airflow, this V6 exhales through a true dual-exhaust setup with twin outlets notched into the rear bumper.  Pretty cool looking and sounds even better.  The other good news is the horsepower increased to 450 and the torque leaped to an awesome dirt/asphalt gripping 510 lb-ft.  Wait, there is more as the new Raptor has a new smooth shifting 10-speed automatic, which means more gears and additional performance.  This arrangement will get you to 60mph in a blink over five seconds.  The “icing on the cake” is that Ford outfitted the four-wheel drive system with six driving modes.
As you arrive for that enjoyable test drive you will quickly see that the Raptor stands out from other F-150's with its bolder looks.  When you climb up into those wide, sturdy and comfy seats it looks like the general good looking Ford F-150 interior, but with a little twist.  The hefty steering wheel is contoured for the thumps and gets an accent-color stripe at 12 noon with matching accents in the stitching on the dash and other cool-looking sporty stuff.  Also the radio, climate controls and four wheel drive have attached golf ball size knobs.  For your entertainment and communication desires, the engineers updated the popular MyFord Touch system.  Easy to reach and easy to learn.
Everything just comes together for total excitement and pleasure with the new Ford F-150 Raptor.  If you really like outdoor sports, tough pickups, off-road adventures and fast cars, then do visit Hixson Ford and get behind the wheel of a Raptor. Don't worry, the only things it bites is asphalt and dirt.
